I’m wondering what it’s like recording with the RISE using a standard DAW. My understanding is that the RISE uses MPE, rather than standard MIDI, to allow for all its fancy controls. So, if I use Equator as a VST from my DAW can I still fully capture my performance? What do the resulting track(s) look like?

Hi, Evan – great to see someone figured out how to change their Avatar!

Different DAWs require different specific steps to fully use all the expression data coming from the RISE, but rest assured – you can indeed fully utilize everything the RISE has to offer.

Here’s a page from ROLI with specific instructions for different DAWs…

And while you’re at it, be sure to download your free copy of the new NOISE app!

Thanks Randy, these articles are exactly what I was looking for!
The NOISE app really makes me wish I had a 6s so I could use it with 3D touch though 🙂

Using the rise with Cubase is as simple as plugging it in and loading up a VST, I’m not sure all these setup guides are required!

It works flawlessly with multi-channel plugins like Equator with midi channel set to ‘All’ in Cubase and if you just set this to a single channel it works fine with mono-timbal synths. The only plugins that I need to switch the ROLI to mono mode are the sample-modelling ones.
