I can’t make any promises, but perhaps you’ll be able to get help here. Of course, your first option should be ROLI Support! They’re the best resource.

if i connect my Seaboard Rise with my iMac (2011, Yosemite), i can only use equator in DAW as Plugin. Equator and Dashboard as Standalone cant connect to my seaboard Rise, cause it seems that it starts over and over again. turns off and on… all the time in 2-3 second rate…
any known issues?
Greetings
December 21, 2015 at 9:26 am #576danielParticipantHi everyone!
I would be curious if folks wanted to share some of their hardware setup & experiences. I have a 2013 Macbook Air, and while Equator runs on it fine, I do get the occasional glitch/pop/scratch sound. And what’s entirely impossible is to run Equator from within Mainstage (curiously, the two work side by side better than if i call it as a plugin from the DAW). Roli support pointed out that my processor isn’t quite up to snuff (in fact, none of the MB Air are).
Now I am thinking about upgrading or buying a dedicated computer for my music programs, either a Macbook Pro, or a Mac Mini. I’d also consider getting an older model, provided someone can tell me how to translate the Roli specs —Intel Dual Core i5 2.5GHz+— to older machines (assuming I install El Capitan on it). Any help here would be appreciated.
December 25, 2015 at 8:06 am #578CinebientParticipantThe dashboard makes my Rise nearly unusable for other tools without MPE since the latest update. Anyone else? I already contacted support but i would like to know if others have similar issues. Watever i set in the dashboard it always goes back to a strange deafult setting like channel 3 as global when in MPE mode or it always default to channel 2 in single mode whenever i open the dashboard again. Further more whatever i do i can´t use the Rise with non multi channel tools since there always silent midi notes, whatever i set the single channel to.
That´s a big bummer for me since it´s now my only midi masterkeyboard 🙁
I´m surprised that the iPhone version works much better than the hardware.December 25, 2015 at 10:46 am #579Randy WaltersKeymasterCinebient – I can’t address the Dashboard global settings; Support is always a good bet. They’re very helpful.
But your issues with non-multi-channel plugins should be very easy to take care of. Different DAWs require different specific steps to fully use all the expression data coming from the RISE, but rest assured – you can indeed fully utilize everything the RISE has to offer.
Here’s a page from ROLI with specific instructions for different DAWs…

Basically, you need to use the plugin in Omni mode, and then set up a stack of 8 or more MIDI channels, each passing along a single channel to your plugin. Check the examples.
It may seem like a lot of effort, but once you have a template set up, you can use it for anything. I hope that helps –

December 27, 2015 at 9:48 am #581jamesclarkParticipantI too have trouble with ROLI dashboard. For me it always defaults to SINGLE mode and sometimes crashing on exit losing all setting and then when i reload many of the settings are scrambled and have to be reset. Roli have offered an exchange on the hardware claiming that it may be a damaged eprom but I will not hold my breath as others also seem to be having software/hardware interface problems.
I cannot use Bluetooth MIDI either with my MacBook 2014 as after about 5 min use it drops connection and usually leaves hanging notes which is really frustrating. There are clearly some problems with the firmware/hardware/software that Roli are producing and these really need to be addressed as a matter of urgency

January 16, 2016 at 8:02 pm #591Nelson BaboonParticipantnew user here – i’ve only had it a couple of days. I’m puzzled by the 3 faders. I’ve set them up in the dashboard to send out 3 different controllers, but what I get (according to my midi monitor software (it has always been totally reliable) are sysex messages from all 3. the touchpad below sends the correct controllers.
Am I missing something? (I did email Roli, but I expect that they are gone for the weekend)
January 16, 2016 at 8:18 pm #592jamesclarkParticipantThat’s an easy thing to get wrong, you need to change the slider mode by pressing the power button briefly once and the colour of the button changes and the three little icons (<>, etc) will turn off which means that the sliders are now transmitting MIDI.
In the other mode they simply change the sensitivity curve of the three key responses/dimensions
Hope this helps
